Step 1: You describe, not filter

Instead of a wall of checkboxes for wrapper type, strength, and ring gauge, Paired starts with a plain-English box. You type what you’d actually say to a knowledgeable shop clerk, and that’s the entire input. Examples of valid queries: “something to pair with bourbon after dinner,” “a gift for my dad who smokes Padrón,” “mild cigar for a beginner,” or “full-bodied and spicy, similar to Liga Privada.” There’s no wrong way to phrase it.

Step 2: Paired reads your intent

Behind the scenes, Paired uses semantic matching — flavor and context embeddings that map your description onto the actual tasting notes, strength, and character of every cigar in its catalog. Rather than matching keywords, it’s matching meaning: “something for a celebration” and “a special-occasion cigar” land in roughly the same place, even though the words don’t overlap. That matching runs across the full Famous Smoke Shop catalog — over 7,500 cigars representing every major brand, wrapper, and strength profile.

Step 3: You get three picks with reasoning

Paired doesn’t return a list of 40 options and leave you to sort it out. It returns three cigars, and each one comes as a card with the cigar’s name, brand, strength, flavor notes, and a one-line “why this one” explanation tying it directly back to what you asked for.

Step 4: Buy at a trusted retailer

Each card includes a Buy button that routes you to a retail partner to complete the purchase. Paired doesn’t sell cigars directly — it’s a recommendation layer that sits in front of the retailers who actually stock and ship the cigars.
